Description

Day after day, Carl Kollhoff carefully packs books in the back room of a bookshop in order to deliver them personally to a reader. On one of his rounds, nine-year-old Schascha follows in his footsteps. Carl is reluctant to get involved with the lively girl, who from then on accompanies him on his errands and calls him "book walker". She has an unerring instinct for which literature Kollhoff's regular customers actually need, even before they know it themselves. In doing so, she not only shakes up their lives, but also forces Carl to break out of his own narrow world.
