Start of construction of the Disentis valley station car park
Further investments
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new multi-storey car park at the Disentis valley station has taken place on 16 March 2022. It offers space for 450 cars and a pump track on the upper deck. In recent years, Bergbahnen Disentis has invested heavily in the tourism infrastructure of the Disentis Sedrun destination with an investment volume of CHF 130 million.
Among other things, the Hotel Catrina (formerly Hotel Baur) has been transformed into the Catrina Resort with 137 flats and two staff accommodation facilities with a total of 38 staff rooms, as well as the Sedrun-Cuolm da Vi connecting cable car, the Cuolm da Vi ski lift, and the associated "La Baracca" restaurant. In addition, the first stage of artificial snowmaking was implemented in the reservoir. The latter, along with investments in the Flowtrail and the Bike Skill Parks, enrich and improve summer tourism.
Groundbreaking on 16 March 2022
Due to the increasing number of guests and the upcoming redevelopment of the Acla da Fontauna site, around 150 parking spaces will be lost at the Disentis valley station, which now necessitates further investment in a new multi-storey car park at the Disentis valley station. The multi-storey car park will have space for 450 cars on three floors. Among them will be parking spaces suitable for the disabled and sufficient charging stations for electric vehicles. The construction costs of the multi-storey car park amount to around CHF 8 million. Due to the lower demand for parking in summer, a pump track is planned on the upper deck of the multi-storey car park, which will further complement and enhance the car park. The groundbreaking ceremony has taken place on 16 March 2022 at the Catrina Resort Disentis.
