Four Rules for Protecting Wildlife

  • Respect wildlife rest zones and protection areas: Wild animals retreat there.

  • Stay on marked routes and trails in the forest.

  • Avoid forest edges and snow-free areas: These are the favorite spots of wild animals.

  • Keep dogs on a leash, especially in the forest.

Protection for Wildlife

Many birds migrate south for the winter. Wildlife that spends the cold season here must carefully manage their energy reserves. In winter, food is scarce and often low in nutrients. Moving through the snow drains strength and energy reserves. Therefore, wildlife has developed various strategies to minimize energy consumption. They seek out caves or sheltered areas, warm themselves in the sun, lower their body temperature, and move as little and as efficiently as possible.

These survival strategies are only effective if the animals are not unnecessarily disturbed. Disturbances cause stress and trigger escape responses, leading to significant energy loss. Wildlife protection areas and rest zones have been designated in and around the ski area to protect the animals from disturbances and ensure the necessary tranquility. These protected areas are marked in green on the piste map and partially signposted on-site.
