Description
We hike near the Rhine - the lapping of the water always accompanies us. The first highlight is Disla, a picturesque village with typical local houses and various old crafts. Always on the Swiss Museum Day the cheese dairy, the flour mill, the sawmill and other buildings are opened. The former blacksmith's shop has become a cute restaurant where you can get an ice cream for the children. Further on the way leads us to Madernal where we meet a relic from former times: A tank barrier. We stay on the left side of the Rhine and after the Russein hydroelectric power station we change to a hiking trail through a fairy-like forest with mossy stones and old tree stumps. Part of the trail leads over a newly constructed wooden footbridge that has been artfully installed into the unstable slope. Once we have reached the meadow in Plaun Petschen with its playground, fireplace, beach volley field and a small swimming lake, we settle in for a longer stay. We calculate about 20 minutes to the train stop in Sumvirg. From here the Rhaetian Railway brings us back to Disentis.
