Lukmanier Pass

1,914 m above sea level / Biasca - Disentis

The Lukmanier Pass was already a popular route in Roman times. It takes you from the monastery village of Disentis in Graubünden via Olivone to Biasca in the canton of Ticino. You too will be amazed by the vast, fresh resin-scented Swiss stone pine forests that you pass through on your journey. At the top of the pass, you can try your luck at fishing in the deep blue reservoir. The Lukmanier Pass is the only one of the eight Alpine passes described here that is also kept open in winter.

Tip: Disentis Monastery

Disentis Monastery is 1400 years old - the oldest Benedictine monastery north of the Alps. Its rich cultural heritage is inviting: visit the baroque monastery church, the museum with its art-historical treasures and stop off at the Stiva Sogn Placi.
