Lake Oberalp

The Oberalpsee, idyllically nestled in the alpine landscape, is easily accessible by car, bike, on foot or with the Matterhorn Gotthard railway. Its clear, oxygen-rich water provides an ideal habitat for lake and rainbow trout, Arctic char and Namaycush trout. If you don't have your own fishing equipment, you can hire or buy it at the Piz Calmot inn on the Oberalp Pass. A special fishing licence is required for fishing on Lake Oberalp, which can also be obtained from the inn. This allows you to catch up to six trout per day. The Uri fishing licence does not apply here. The fishing season runs from June to September.
