Monastery: The spacious baroque complex of the Benedictine monastery majestically dominates the valley floor of Disentis with the monastery church and its two domed towers. The monastery church of St Martin is of great art-historical value and a cultural asset of national importance.

School: In the monasteries, knowledge has always been passed on to the next generation. In written and oral form. In this respect, our grammar school can look back on a history almost as long as that of our monastery. The school is still run by us, some monks still teach and the Matura made in Disentis still leads to the best universities and colleges in Switzerland and abroad without examinations.

Seminar: There are many seminar and conference hotels. If you are looking for a place of inspiration and retreat, then Disentis Monastery is the right address. Here you will find seclusion and tranquillity, style and atmosphere, light and space, nature and culture as well as contemplation and hospitality. / Event: We plan and organise your event according to your ideas and ensure perfect implementation. We take care of your wishes so that everything is just as you imagined it.

Food and drink: In the Stiva St. Placi, or if the weather permits on the sun terrace with its marvellous view, you can meet every day from 8 am to 5 pm, chat over a coffee or enjoy the rich breakfast or snack with fine monastery products. Every lunchtime from Monday to Sunday between 11.45 and 14.00, we serve a menu prepared by chef Andreas Schiebel that leaves nothing to be desired.

Museum: If you are interested in history and art: The monastery's museum is a treasure trove. The museum is open daily from 08.30 - 17.00. Guided tours for groups are offered daily, except on Sundays, by appointment.
