Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG is actively committed to reducing its energy consumption and CO2 emissions. As the operator of an energy-intensive ski resort, the company is aware of the importance of sustainable energy production and use. For this reason, Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG works closely with the Act Cleantech Agency Switzerland to increase its energy efficiency and minimize its environmental impact. Since 2015, the participating locations have entered into target agreements with Act, which are exceeded every year. In addition to reducing energy consumption, the company also attaches great importance to the origin of its energy, with electrical energy being sourced from suppliers Elektrizitätswerk Ursern. In addition, Energia Alpina is sourced 100% from renewable sources, with the companies also operating hydroelectric power plants and wind turbines in the region.

Sustainable mobility and emission reduction

In the 2020/21 season, Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG put a hybrid snow groomer into operation in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Compared to a conventional diesel vehicle, the hybrid Pistenbully reduces emissions by 20 percent, while emissions of soot particles are reduced by as much as 99 percent. This is part of the company's commitment to successively modernize its vehicle fleet in order to reduce emissions in the long term and contribute to environmental protection.
