Summer in Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis
Three places one summer destination
Switzerland is considered the water castle of Europe - and in the holiday region of Andermatt, Sedrun and Disentis you are right in the middle of it. The four rivers Reuss, Rhine, Rhone and Ticino rise at the Gotthard massif and carry the Alpine water in all four directions to Europe's seas.
Numerous outdoor activities
But not only that! Here you can hike, climb, mountaineer, golf, bike, fish, cycle, hop into one of the region's 40 mountain lakes, pan for gold, search for crystals or take a leisurely swim; we have two bathing lakes in a beautiful location. Four cable cars take hiking and nature enthusiasts directly up the mountain. There, 850 kilometres of hiking trails are waiting to be discovered. And if you need a break, there are numerous options for culinary stops: the family-friendly children's restaurants, large sun terraces and cosy Beizli serve traditional dishes and fine snacks. The 21 huts of the Swiss Alpine Club in our area are also starting points for challenging mountain hikes, high-altitude or climbing tours.
Scenic mountain passes
Andermatt, Sedrun and Disentis is also a hotspot for all Alpine pass lovers - no fewer than eight passes border the holiday region; Furka, Gotthard, Oberalp, Susten, Klausen, Lukmanier, Nufenen and Grimsel. So why not explore the wild mountain world and the neighbouring valleys on a pass journey? For example, by bike, train or post bus, so you can keep your nose in the wind and your eyes on the beauty all around you.
