Description
We walk comfortably from the Lukmanier Hospice along the left side of the reservoir into the Val Termine. The rough path that follows, laid out by the military to the Passo dell'uomo, is not exactly what hikers want. But as soon as we reach the highest point, we are once again delighted by the intact nature. To our left we catch a glimpse of the Pizzo delle Colombe, a peculiar, jagged mountain that doesn't seem to fit into this landscape at all.
The Val Piora lies before us and soon we can sit down on the terrace of the Capanna Cadagno. However, if you prefer to have a picnic, a few minutes' walk further on, on the banks of Lago Cadagno, you will find wonderful places right by the water.
We continue to follow the path along the southern bank to the dam. There is another opportunity to stop for a break here. The last stretch to the mountain station of the funicular is on a road. The train ride is a final highlight: it is one of the steepest funiculars there is. We return to Disentis by bus and train
